HORRABRIDGE Rangers Sports Association held their annual football extravaganza in Fillace Park.
There was a massive turnout of 148 teams, ranging from under 9 boys to under 14 boys, under 10, 12 and 14 girls ? with the teams, parents, grandparents and friends it is estimated that well over 1,900 people visited Horrabridge over the three week tournament.
The tournaments were played on Saturday and Sunday starting on Saturday June 28 with the U9 boys teams and finishing with the U14 boys teams on Sunday July 13.
One age group or gender played each day.
The tournaments were played in a competitive spirit and all teams need congratulating on the attitude they showed on and off the pitch.
The ladies who ran the canteen must be picked out for their exemplary work, especially Mavis Beech, Clare Mulholland and Clem Cuthbert.
Tournaments finalists were: U9 boys, Plymouth Kolts bt Woolwell: U10 Callington Colts bt Woolwell; U11 Woolwell bt Tamarside; U12 Torpoint and Antony bt Tamarside Kings; U14 Tamarside bt Manstow; U10 girls Staddiscombe bt Efford; U12 girls Tavistock Girls bt Activate; U14 girls, Chaddlewood bt Tamarside.
Horrabridge Rangers are always looking for new members to help in any way, not managing or coaching but in ways such as car parking marshals, fundraising, working in the canteen on match days and generally keeping the area around Fillace Park neat and tidy.
Could volunteers please contact Ian Mulholland or Rob Mitchelmore via the pavilion or through the club secretary.
