I READ the newspaper online with great interest each week. I have done this for several years whilst living all over the world. I am delighted to see the idea for the flowers in the square. Many of the old Tavistock people will remember the late Mrs Margaret Wedd who was a town councillor and made it her ?thing? to keep the square and surrounding areas colourful and blooming during the summer months. She could often be seen early in the mornings and later in the evenings tending the flowers and ensuring they were well watered. This will be a great legacy for a lady who was a native of Scotland but became a Tavistokian whose ideas were always about enhancing the lovely town and showing off it?s greatest features.
