I WAS interested to read in the July 7 issue, that the writer Tina K Burton had had a short story published in the Alfie Dog Fiction anthology 'Came as "Me", Left as "We"'.

I found at Book Stop that Alfie Dog Fiction had published two anthologies — 'Came as "Me", Left as "We"', which is specifically for ladies and 'This is My Land' for men. Both designed to be short reads for lazy days.

There were three other Tavistock authors in these books: Caroline Scott Collins' lead story "Came as "Me", Left as "We"' the title of her short story being the title of the anthology; the very well-known novelist and prolific writer Patricia Fawcett has a brilliant story called 'The Decision'; and in 'This is My Land', Dr Robert Clifford, a retired GP who lives in Tavistock, who on Facebook is described as the 'illustrious writer and broadcaster', has a story called 'The Tree'.

I see that this total of 37 short stories is out of one thousand from Europe and North America, and these four writers are from Tavistock.

As someone who is interested in writing, it would appear that Tavistock is a good breeding ground for authors.
