THIS Sunday sees the culmination of months of hard work towards a millennium project pioneered by Okehampton-based folk charity The Wren Trust.

The 2000 Voices concert at Plymouth Pavilions features community singers from throughout Devon performing songs specially written for the occasion by five nationally renowned song writers.

Paul Wilson, musical director, said theatre technicians were having a 'whale of a time' with the stunning light show, to complement the singers' bright costumes.

'Calls are still coming in with people saying "Can we come and sing tonight?",' said Mr Wilson, who added people are welcome to turn up and perform on the day.

The free event starts at 2pm — doors open at noon.
