MEAVY Mother and Toddler Group held a farewell party last Friday, to say a big thank you to Rosemary Weir.
Rosemary and her friends started Meavy Mothers and Toddlers as part of the Mothers' Union in 1975.
The group has provided a welcome, caring place for mums to relax and chat while their little ones play.
In more recent years, Rosemary and her husband, John, have dedicated their Friday mornings to running the group.
Sadly, they feel they can no longer continue and have handed over to Meavy and Yelverton Pre-School, which is also based in Meavy Parish Hall.
Although under the umbrella of the pre-school, the toddler group will continue to run separately and involve the parents who attend. It is also committed to continuing the strong link with St Peter's Church in Meavy, which was important to Rosemary and John.
Meavy Toddler Group will be open on Friday mornings in Meavy Parish Hall at the new time of 9.30am — next meeting on March 5.
Everyone is welcome for coffee and play. For more information phone 01822 855844 or visit http://www.meavyandyelvetonpreschool.btik.com">www.meavyandyelvetonpreschool.btik.com
