A GP who has spent most of her working life in a deprived suburb of Manchester is the speaker at the next meeting of women's Christian group Taste and See in Tavistock.

The talk to be given by Dr Linda Stalley is 'Miracles: Do They Ever Happen? A Doctor's View'.

Dr Stalley spent six months living in a Christian community in Hong Kong where heroin addicts were rehabilitated through Christian love, and has been involved with the care of addicts and homeless people in Manchester.  As a co-leader in the Maranatha Community — a movement of Christians from all denominations committed to the unity of the Church — she is now living in a house devoted to prayer and healing for anyone in need.

The Taste and See meeting is at the Ordulph Arms on Thursday October 9 and starts at 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Revolution in Russell Street or Linda Medland on 01822 615940 and are £8 to include a two-course dinner with a vegetarian option.
