CHILDREN from Whitchurch Primary School raised more than £1,000 for charity in just three months. Between December and March, pupils of all years saved their pocked money, took part in sponsored silences and a walk, and sold drinks, to raise money for Send A Cow. They raised enough to provide a cow, a male goat, a cockerel, ten chickens, a beehive and some fodder tree seeds. Send A Cow gives direct practical help in sustainable farming to people in nine countries of Africa. Its aim is to provide farmers with the means and skills to work their way out of poverty for good.
