OUR bed is normally our one comfortable haven away from the madness of everyday life — but a double bed was the focus of a mad fundraiser by Chagford Young Farmers' Group.

The group pushed a double bed from Princetown to Moretonhampstead on the late August bank holiday and raised £1,147. The money will be split evenly between Cancer Research UK and the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Group.

Chagford Young Farmers' expressed their thanks to everyone who supported the event on the day and with donations.
