VOLUNTEERS from the Tavistock Area Support Service (TASS) have again made it a year to remember for so many older people living in the area.
The volunteers deliver a wide range of services from outreach in village halls, transport to clubs, hospital and doctor appointments, as well as providing a range of activities at the Anchorage Centre.
This year saw the launch of the Voluntary Hospital Car Service and the volunteers have driven thousands of miles to make sure people get to appointments on time.
Volunteers have also delivered weekend breaks to Falmouth Beach Hotel as well as a full calendar of trips, making sure people get out and about.
The volunteers provide an invaluable service to the local community — their dedication and commitment week in week out makes a big difference to people's lives.
Next year TASS celebrates 25 years of serving the people of Tavistock and to mark this it will be launching even more volunteer-run services.
To find out more about what TASS has planned for next year or if you want to join the band of volunteers, please call 01822 616958.
Thanks have been expressed by all those who have made use of the service over the last year for the hard work put in by the volunteers.
