FUNDING for important equipment for Okehampton Hospital will be given a boost on March 23 by a quiz night in the Conservative Club.

The Friends of Okehampton Hospital are organising the quiz as part of their ongoing effort to provide new equipment for patients at the hospital.

Their chairman Martin Perry explained how the group looks to fund extra facilities not available through direct NHS funding: 'It is our intention to ensure that patients in Okehampton have every help and assistance that they need to aid recovery.

'That is our purpose, and we are constantly amazed at the overwhelming support that we receive from the community here in Okehampton.

'We hope that there will be an excellent turnout for the quiz.

'We are holding the entry price down in view of the economic problems that have hit the town recently, and we hope that in this way no one need be excluded.

'We are also sure that many of our supporters will be generous in purchasing raffle tickets.'

Teams of up to four people are welcome to enter, for £10 per team. Entry includes a glass of wine and a light cheese supper. The quiz starts at the club at 7.30pm. All are welcome to take part.
