A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after a serious collision at Iron Railings Cross on Sunday morning.
At approximately 11.30am on Sunday, November 25, a serious road traffic collision occurred at Iron Railings Cross at Haye Down, west of Tavistock.
A blue Citroen C1 was travelling from the Brentor direction towards Milton Abbot when it was in collision with a Land Rover travelling from the Chillaton direction towards Tavistock.
The driver of the Citroen was a 36-year-old female from the Exeter area, who suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital. A spokesperson for the police said she was ‘very lucky’.
The driver of the Land Rover was a 37-year-old male from the Chillaton area. He received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The female Citroen driver was still in hospital on Monday in a serious but stable condition.
Police said the weather was cold and the road surface was damp. The road was closed for five hours for a full forensic investigation.
Police said enquiries were still ongoing. If anyone witnessed the collision they are being asked to contact 101 and quote log 379 of November 25, 2018.
