TWO fire engines from Tavistock were called to Milton Abbot on Monday (October 7) to extinguish a blaze within a car.
The car had been towing a caravan when it caught alight at around 4pm on the B3362, near to The Edgcumbe Arms.
It was reported that locals from Milton Abbot unhitched the the caravan which saved it spreading to the caravan and they tried to stop the fire in the car with water and extinguishers but the fire got hold.
Police and Tavistock firefighters attended at around 4.30pm and used a dry powder extinguisher and compressed air foam and hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze. The crews left the scene at 7pm.
