POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an unexpected death on Bannawell Street in Tavistock earlier this morning (Friday).

Police received a call at 9.45am to attend by an ambulance crew who were dealing with a person who had sustained injuries but sadly passed away at the scene. Devon Air Ambulance also attended.

Initial enquiries by police would suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. Next of kin have been informed.

Tavistock CID are continuing their enquiries and are appealing for witnesses who were in the Bannawell Street area between 9.15am and 9.30am today (Friday, April 27).
