• Police are warning parents to be aware of where their children are in the evenings as officers have seen an increase in youngsters attending parties.

PCSO Kevin Williams said many youngsters tell parents they are staying at a friends house and then going to parties and drinking alcohol.

He said: ‘Lots of parents don’t know that their children are going to parties and drinking a lot. They could be attending parties at friends houses when parents are away so there is no supervision and the risk of youngsters drinking too much and getting into trouble.

‘Parents have got to know where their kids are.’
