THERE have been a number of thefts in the Tavistock area over the last week — read more about crime in the area on our #newsfromtheblues page in each week’s edition of the Times.
• THIEVES stole the forks from a forklift truck parked at Warracott Farm in Lifton late on the evening of Monday, January 22. Two men entered the site at 11.07pm and removed the forks, which would have a high value as scrap. CR006845/18.
• AN attempt to break into a cottage at Chipshop near Gulworthy was apparently disturbed on Friday morning, January 26. The offenders damaged the frame of the door but fled before gaining entry. The incident happened at 9.44am. CR007673/18.
• INTRUDERS forced open the door and stole £900 in cash from a property in Spring Hill, Tavistock, on Thursday, January 25 between 8pm and 9pm. The occupant was not at home. CR007611/18.
• POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a Land Rover Freelander was vandalised while parked at the top of Bannawell Street in Tavistock between 6pm on January 27 and 8.30pm on January 28. The whole length of the vehicle, nearest to the pavement, was keyed causing substantial damage. CR/008334/18.
• BETWEEN 6.50pm on January 24 and 2pm on January 25, £75 worth of garden equipment/ornaments were stolen from a home on Perry Close, Tavistock. CR/007955/18.
