THE police helicopter was scrambled to locate the drivers of a suspected stolen car after a crash near Hatherleigh last Tuesday.

The vehicle was found on its roof on the A386 after being abandoned following the crash during the evening of Tuesday, March 6. Police were called at 8.45pm.

Flying over the area, they used a thermal camera to locate the suspects. The helicopter then guided police on the ground to the scene, where they apprehended two men and spoke to them about the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.
