POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault of a young man in Tavistock last Sunday (August 30).

The incident took place around 5pm and saw the man assaulted by four males near to the Co-op on Market Street, Tavistock.

Police said that the victim was pushed against a wall, assaulted and his wallet was removed from his back pocket. The wallet was thrown back at him when they realised there was nothing to take and the males ran off.

At this time there is no exact location to the incident, no description of the offenders and no direction the males ran off in.
