TWO men forced their way into a property in Tavistock wielding weapons and threatened the occupant last week.

On Tuesday, October 3 at approximately 12.30pm, the men, believed by the police to be local, entered a property in Walkham Close, Greenlands, wearing balaclavas and carrying weapons, believed to be a gun and a machete.

With the information received, unarmed police officers arrested two men nearby matching the descriptions given and they were held overnight and interviewed the following day. They were released pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for the police said: ’We recovered an air pistol which we believe was used.

’We would like to reassure the public that this was a one off event and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this.’
