A NUMBER of thefts — including a £600 oil theft — feature in this week’s Tavistock area crimes.

• A MALE driver stopped by police in Bedford Square was discovered to be driving without any insurance.

Officers stopped him during a routine patrol between 8pm and 9.30am on Wednesday, February 28, CR/018158/18.

• A MOTORBIKE was stolen from the driveway of a house in Grenofen while the occupants were away. Thieves stole the yellow Suzuki 400 sometime between 12 noon on Thursday, March 1 and 11am on Sunday, March 4. Any witnesses are invited to contact the police quoiting the crime reference number. CR/018703/18.

• A MAN was stopped by police in Whitchurch on Monday, March 5 at 9pm. He was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis. CR/019203/18.

• VALUABLE specialist equipment for detecting gas was stolen from a van parked in Whitchurch while its owner was taking a short break. The theft took place between 10-10.30am on Monday, March 5, CR /019326/18.

‘We’d urge people to keep their tools with them at all times, or under lock and key,’ said PCSO Seonaid Greenwood of Tavistock Police.

• A MOBILE phone was stolen from a market stall in Bedford Square on Tuesday, March 6 sometime between 2.30 and 3.30pm, while the stall was unattended. Police have reminded traders to be vigilant.

• A MAN was stopped by police while driving through Milton Abbot and found to have a small amount of cannabis on him. He was stopped at 6.45pm on Tuesday, March 6, CR/019533/18.

• A DISPUTE at an address on the Greenlands estate in Tavistock ended with a man damaging the household electricity meter. The visitor to the house admitted the offence when police arrived. The incident took place between 9.10 and 9.20pm on Tuesday, March 6. CR/019565/18.

• OIL worth an estimated £600 has been siphoned from an oil tank at a farm in Princetown sometime between midday on Saturday, March 3 and midday on Tuesday, March 6. It is believed 800 litres have been stolen. Police are appealing for information, CR/019999/18.

• A ROAD rage incident erupted after a minor collision on the A386 at Yelverton on Friday, March 9. A van was in collision with the car in front between 7.25am and 7.30am. The van driver then got out and punched the car driver, police said. They are appealing for witnesses, CR/020282/18.
