THE pilot of a glider escaped with minor injuries after parachuting out of his glider in a crash near Mary Tavy.
The man in his 60s managed to eject himself from the cockpit after his glider plummeted at Gibbet Hill near Mary Tavy around lunchtime today (Wednesday).
On arrival crews confirmed that the man had parachuted out of the glider before it crashed.
He suffered minor injuries and was taken by land ambulance to hospital to be checked over.
Fire crews went to the location of the glider and made it safe with small tools. Arrangements are being made by the owner to recover the glider.
