Horrabridge Cavaliers will be running their ever-popular Bottle Auction tonight (Friday).

Taking place at The London Inn at 7.30pm this is a great opportunity to snap up a few bottles prior to Christmas.

Whilst there have been a lot of local events cancelled lately the Cavaliers are keen to press ahead with this event and they hope it will be as popular as ever.

Special thanks have been expressed to local residents who have already donated bottles to be used at the auction as well as Helen France of Morrisons Tavistock who has organised some good prizes for the auction.

The Horrabridge Cavaliers were founded in 1977 after a group of volunteers came together to assist in raising money to purchase a swimming pool at the village school. After successfully completing this project the members decided that it would be a good idea to continue with the fundraising to assist in various projects within the village.

Since its formation the group have raised over £100,000, with all the money being given to individuals and groups within the village for local projects. The money is raised by various fundraising schemes like barbecues and quizzes alongside the December bottle auction which usually raises around £2,000.

The Cavaliers is made up of around 20 members of the village headed by the chairman Ian Burke.
