FIREFIGHTERS from Tavistock, Yelverton and Bere Alston were called to a property fire in Tavistock shortly after 8am this morning (Monday, November 25).
Fire crews found an outbuilding at Greenlands on fire but the blaze had not spread to the main building.
No people were injured in the incident but a pet dog died in the fire. A second dog escaped uninjured.
Western Power attended and isolated the gas and electric supplies and The British Red Cross provided support for the residents of the property.
Crews used four breathing apparatus, two covering jets, two thermal imaging cameras, a triple extension ladder and small tools to check and ventilate the property.
A fire investigation officer is examining the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
