DOG attacks, fuel theft and criminal damage to vehicles are among the crimes to have taken place in the Okehampton area this week.
• Fifteen bottles of champagne were stolen from the Okehampton Co-operative on Monday, September 11 at around 5pm.
The female offender stole the bottles by concealing them under crisps and toilet roll in her shopping trolley and walked out of the store without offering payment.
The items stolen had a combined total of £900. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police via [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting the crime reference number CR/078701/17.
• A thief stole £40 worth of diesel from the Shell service station in Sourton on Saturday, September 9 at 8.15 am.
The registration number was caught on CCTV and police are pursuing this enquiry. CR/077529/17.
• On Monday, September 11 at around 12pm, more diesel was stolen from the Shell service station in Sourton. The thief drove off with £41 of petrol. CR/077893/17.
• £60 worth of petrol was stolen from Whitehouse Services near Okehampton on September 11 at around 4am.
The owner of a black Peugeot drove away from the petrol station without paying. The car was caught on CCTV and police are investigating the theft. CR/077777/17.
• A blue Land Rover, parked at a property in North Tawton, had fuel stolen from its tank at some time between September 11 at 10pm and September 12 at 6am. The offender stole £40 worth of fuel from the vehicle. CR/078245/17.
• The tyres of a vehicle parked in Hatherleigh had all four of its tyres slashed on September 12 between 9am and 6pm. The white Vauxhall van was parked on the A3072 road when a sharp object was used to slash the tyres. The police are appealing for any witnesses of this incident. CR/078434/17.
• A white Transit van parked near Moyses Meadow in Okehampton was tampered with by an offender, who tried to gain entry.
It was reported to the police that the culprit was unable to gain entry to the van as it was parked tight to the wall. The incident happened between 5pm on Wednesday, September 14 and 8am on September 15. CR/078903/17.
• A dog attacked a sheep in Iddesleigh between 11.20am and 11.30am on September 14.
A large black dog, which was wearing a harness, chased and attacked the sheep, causing it serious injury. Witnesses have said that there was no owner of the dog in sight and that it violently attacked the sheep before running off. Police would like to remind dog owners to keep there pets on a lead at all times when around sheep or out in public. CR/078981/17.
