THE current West Devon Borough Council's proposed strategic strategy for Tavistock includes a new road linking Plymouth and Callington Roads to serve a new railway station and residential estate.
It could also form the western end of a one-way circuit in the centre of the town. The eastern end would be the junction of Parkwood and Stannary Bridge Roads.
Such a circuit would result in smoother speeds and consequent reductions in carbon emissions, fuel consumption and delays.
With the ever increasing volume of traffic on the A386 main road the calming effect would be an advantage to everyone.
