THE housing services manager for Tavistock based affordable housing provider, West Devon Homes, recently celebrated 25 years of service to the housing sector in West Devon. Sue James (above) was presented with a bouquet of flowers by chief executive for West Devon Homes, Jean Peters, to mark the occasion. Sue began her career in housing with West Devon District Council in 1979 as a junior clerical assistant. She moved on to land charges and then to the legal section where she provided support and advice to all sections of the council.  Sue provided legal support on housing issues, including rent arrears recovery, and in 1997 began work in the housing department as rental control officer. In 1999, she transferred to the new company elected to take over the council's housing stock, West Devon Homes, where she went on to become housing services manager. Sue said: 'I have thoroughly enjoyed my career to date.  Over the years I have worked with some wonderful colleagues some of whom will be lifelong friends.'
