TAVISTOCK Cricket Club hosts the Tavistock and District Premiership 20/20 Competition on Sunday, August 12, an event postponed earlier in the season as a result of bad weather. Six local teams will vie for the trophy. Championship winners and runners up, Ordulph Arms, Taverners CC and Lydford CC, will compete against Lewdown, Bridestowe, Tavistock and Whitchurch. Fixtures for this weekend: Saturday, August 4, Tavistock 1st XI v Abbotskerswell (away), Tavistock 2nd XI v Alphington (home) 2pm, Tavistock 3rd XI v Yelverton (away) 2pm. Sunday, August 5, charity match PDSA v Devon Air Ambulance. Tuesday, August 7, Ryde (home) 2.30pm. Wednesday, August 8, Cambridge Granta (home) 2.30pm.
