STAFF and children at Walkhampton Pre-School proved they were good sports recently when the completed a marathon in aid of their nursery years education centre.
The event saw walkers, runners, toddlers and tots (pictured above) complete a 26-mile course with some even managing a fun run around Burrator Reservoir ? in total the fundraisers covered more than 200 miles.
Tracy Shaw, secretary of Walkhampton Pre-School said: ?We were very pleased to find we had raised about £1,000 and we would like to thank everyone who took part in the event.?
She also extended thanks on behalf of the pre-school to the event sponsors who included Comet at Plympton, Mansbridge and Balment, the Rock Inn, Co-op, Crealy and Woodlands Adventure Parks, Living Coasts, Newquay Zoo, Plymouth Boat Cruises and Trethorne Leisure Park.
The school now has enough funds to purchase much needed new equipment and toys before it re-opens for the new term on September 6.
