Whitchurch Ladies v Exmouth
WHITCHURCH played their second game of the season away at Exmouth. They bowled well with Laura Armstrong (2 for 13), Candy Capeling (3-24), Ang Hunt (2-9), Donna Ward (1-20) and Jenny Kaye (1-4).
The fielding was secure with Ali Evans taking a great catch and wicket keeper Gaynor Pollard stumping a player. Josie Gerhold, Tory Whitehouse and Faye Channing, in her debut game, all played well to leave Whitchurch chasing a total of 70. They batted strongly with Jenny Kaye making 22, Gillian Northey 16 and Ang Hunt 12 and passed Exmouth?s total in 20 overs to win by 8 wickets .
The day before, two of the Whitchurch squad played a large part in Devon?s win over Wiltshire. Lesley Smith batted well and made 41 not out and Laura Armstrong in her debut for the county side bowled 8 overs and took 3 wickets for 18 runs.
Whitchurch?s next game is in two weeks against ISCA.
