THE WINSFORD Trust is holding an open day with refreshments on Monday May 28, from 11am until 4pm, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of C F A Voysey's birth in 1857. Charles Voysey was the architect of the Winsford Cottage Hospital, a Grade II* listed building which opened in 1900. The Winsford Trust have been operating as a day centre and community facility in the old hospital building since 2000. The trust will also be holding its annual meeting on May 29 at 4pm at the centre, and anyone wishing to attend will be most welcome. The centre relies on and values its volunteers and always welcomes new faces. It currently has a vacancy for a minibus driver to help bring clients into the lunch club on Tuesdays and Thursdays. With funding from the Rural Outreach Learning Initiative, the centre is also holding a number of courses throughout the summer in Halwill Village Hall. Throughout May and early June, there will be belly dancing classes on Tuesdays from 6.30pm until 8pm — each class costs just £2, and anybody interested is welcome to drop in on any week. There will also be a personal development workshop day on Friday May 18 at the Winsford Centre for people wishing to return to work, which will provide help with identifying their skills and creating a CV. And on May 30, there will be a digital photography workshop at the centre. On a lighter note there will be the celebration of Veterans' Day on Saturday June 30 with entertainment and a 'street party'. Anyone interested in any of these events should contact Sandra Willetts at Winsford on 01409 221470.
