A TOTAL of 114 players took part in Okehampton Golf Club's better ball stableford on Saturday May 29. The outstanding score of the day was from K Wills and R Reid in division 2 with 51 points. As this score included three chip-ins for birdies they must have had someone smiling down on them that day!
Division 1 was closer with J Mansell and D Harwood's 45 points ensuring a two-point-winning margin.

Division 2: 1, K Wills and R Reid 51 points; 2, A Cann and P Grimley 44 points; 3, S Hern and G Milford 43 points (last 9).
Fifteen pairs took part in a mixed greensome on Sunday. Jim Morey and Lorna Rolfe took first place with a score of 41 points.

Dartmoor League — Okehampton played their home match against Wrangaton on Sunday.
They faced their toughest home match of the season, winning by the close margin of 3 points to 2. Okehampton stay top of the league.
Okehampton Ladies had a successful week starting on May 20 with the DCVLGA (Championship) summer meeting at Thurlestone.
Marcia Jones was third in the silver division and Eileen Piper second in the bronze.
On May 21 vice-captain Lorna Rolfe came a good second in the DCLGA bronze open (Low H'Cap) at Staddon Heights.
The ladies' county scratch team played Stover at Okehampton and won 13 points to 4 1/2.
The ladies played the NSPCC qualifier on Wednesday May 26: 1, L Rolfe M Huggins D Phillott, 74 points; 2, G Thatcher D Jewell P Kirby 68 points; 3, J Hatch C Stevens P Vick 64 points.
After the match lady captain Sylvia Caunter presented Dawn Phillott with a Rose Spoon which had been awarded by the ELGA for Dawn's outstanding round in April when she played 10 under handicap with a net 61.
The fourth round of the East Devon Junior League took place at Woodbury Park on Sunday. The Okehampton team usually find this course a tough challenge and this year was no exception.
A combined score of 188 was their lowest score of the season so far but significantly better than last year and just enough to hold onto fourth place in the table.
