TAVISTOCK Company of Archers held its open field shoot at the Trout Farm, Tavistock, on Sunday by permission of owner Abigail Underhill.

The weather started bright and cold but turned dull and windy as the day went on. This did not stop the 110 archers who turned up to shoot this well prepared and laid out course, set by several senior members of the club.

With the help of about 15 club members the course started to take shape first thing on Saturday morning and was ready for the archers on Sunday morning.

The challenge had been set by a club regarded as one of the top ones in the country, not just for the good courses and shoots it puts on, but also for the quantity of top class archers it has among its membership.

Archers came from as far as Blackburn to try their luck. The targets had been cleverly angled and this caught out even the top class archers.

Medals and prizes were presented to the winners by Abigail Underhill and the club expressed thanks to her for her support.
