MEMBERS of the Tavistock Wheelers entered two separate road racing events last week.

A number of riders took part in the circuit racing at Ilton in Somerset, including a road race debut for young Finn Ramirez. All of the riders gave a good account of themselves and the star of the show was Peter Jarman who completely dominated the field in the Youth Race.

Several riders also took part in the Halwill Junction Road Race, with Dan Strong gaining the first points by a Tavistock Wheelers rider in a category three race. There were also strong showings from Tim Mitchell and Josh Bullock.

On Sunday, the normal club ride attracted 32 riders who set off in the direction of Hatherleigh and Holsworthy. There were three different ability groups to make sure everybody had an enjoyable ride and all arrived safely at the Viaduct Café for the coffee stop.

It was great, said club members, to enjoy a sunny ride with very little wind.

There are plenty of pictures to see of the ride on the club's website http://www.tavistockwheelers.com">www.tavistockwheelers.com
