RIDERS from the Tavistock Wheelers headed west again on Saturday to compete in the second round of the Portreath Circuit Races in Cornwall.

There were great performances from our younger riders. Rory Millar, 13, in his first race, stuck to his game plan and finished with a high placing in his age group.

Peter Jarman and Matt Adams working exceptionally well together, rode to sixth and seventh place in the hotly contested U16s group.

In the category four race, Will Johnson, 16, and Tim Mitchell simply rode away from the rest of the riders to gain first and second place.

Ewan Warren, in his first ever race, won a bronze medal in the Portreath U10s road race on Saturday - a great achievement.

All members of the club are delighted with the progress that the club is making on all levels and they cannot wait for the warmer weather when spring eventually arrives! Despite the cold wind on Sunday, 24 riders turned up for the club ride to Minions and Kit Hill and covered more than 40 miles.
