CONSERVATIVE A used their game in hand to inch back to top spot in the Tavistock Snooker league table with a less than convincing 3-2 win over West Devon B. West Devon can feel unlucky not to have come away from this game with more than they did.

Steve Johns for the Con A had a difficult games against West Devon B's Horrell who played some tight snooker. Eventually Johns snatched a pressure black to win the frame. Hoare bounced the West Devon right back with a win over Cook but Lacey for Con A, after a slow start, kicked into gear with a couple of double figure visits to beat Gilchrist. With the West Devon facing defeat it was John Rich that pulled them back into it with a superb victory over Carruthers.

An early 18 break by Rich, after some wayward snooker from Carruthers, was followed by the former taking the pink and black to steal the frame. With the match all square, the ever dependable Tom Evans saved the Con A's blushes with a win against Roger Rich.

Conservative Z had jumped into second place in the league albeit temporarily. Fitzsimmons for Con Z team got off to a bright start against McKenzie (junior) of Conservative C, but a spate of unfortunate 'in-offs' left him struggling to catch the latter.

McKechnie (senior) for Con Z team had a comfortable win over Monk to level the score.

Mark Evans, against Symons of Con Z team, notched up a break of 27; however, Symons fought back producing some fine potting but missed an easy pink. Con Z's John Dodd dispatched Con C's Ewings with a fine display of controlled potting. All square as the teams went into the last frame.

A tight game between Hall of Con Z team and Con C's Lillicrap reached the finishing line first with the black ball hovering over the pocket to take the game. He potted the black but followed in with the white, game to Hall. It was a tight and ultimately enjoyable match overall with Conservative Z beating Conservative C by 3-2 in frames.
