EARLIER this year five swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club competed in the Devon County Championships.

During the course of the championships, many good times and places were achieved.

Matt Edward won two silver medals in the 16/over 1,500m freestyle and the 16/over 100m freestyle. He also came fourth in the championship final of the 400m freestyle, fifth in the championship final of the 200m freestyle, as well as gaining personal bests in the 50m and 100m butterfly.

Kieran Rookes achieved fourth place in the 15 years 100m breaststroke, second in the 50m breaststroke and three in the 50m backstroke.

Kieran was sixth place in the 100m IM, 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

Emily Attfield finished fifth in the 13 years 200m breaststroke, swimming personal best times in this and her other events, the 100m and 800m freestyle.

James Anderson swam pbs in each of his events to finish seventh in the 14 years 50m and 200m butterfly and tenth in the 100m butterfly.

Nathaniel Rookes swam to 20th place in the 16/over 100m backstroke.
