FLY fisherman in West Devon and East Cornwall, both novice and advanced, are invited to take part in a free annual trout fishing event organised by South West Lakes Trust.

The South West Fly Fair takes place on Saturday, March 1, at Roadford Lake, near Launceston.

The event has become a regular feature in the trout fisherman's calendar in anticipation of the new season, enabling anglers to learn from some of the greatest fly-tiers in the region, brush up on casting skills, see and try the latest tackle and listen to guest speakers.

Entry is free. The fair will run from 10am to 4pm.

Fishing experts at the event will include Charlies Jardine, Mike Weaver, Russ Symons, Simon Kidd, and Gary Champion. South West Lakes Trust season permits will also be on sale on the day at a discounted price.
