TAVISTOCK Run Project (TRP) had a strong outing at this month’s Tavistock 5K Skool Run.

A bright, crisp morning saw some fantastic running between Ollie Smart and Jordan Andrews who pushed hard from the outset. They broke clear from the rest of the field early on. Smart’s relentless pace saw him through to first place with a time of 15 minutes 45 seconds (breaking the under 17 age group record by 1.34), only just outside the course record recently set by his club team mate Jim Cole, with Andrews following on shortly afterwards in an excellent time of 16.12.

Dan Pearce also had a great run smashing his personal best in a time of 18.29. Other TRP athletes taking part were Don Ladell who recorded a pb of 19.46 and Ruth Macintyre we ran strongly to record a time of 23.44.

Further afield Ben Neale made the long trip to Henley on Thames to race his second half marathon in successive weekends. Over a course that turned out to be well over distance Ben ran to victory to embellish his growing reputation.
