TAVISTOCK captain Dale Wood had to dig deep into his inspirational locker in the pre-match talk as the team faced league leaders Exeter University.

Tavistock were able to apply some good early pressure but the well drilled Exeter side soon found a rhythm demonstrating patient slick passing around the back and clinical short corner routines. The home side found themselves 3-0 down as the half time whistle blew.

However, heads stayed up and the work rate and commitment has high throughout creating a few good chances in the opposition D.

Captain Wood led by example as the keystone of the Tavistock defence alongside Rory Carr whose tenacity and speed earned him Tavistock man of the match. The reward being only one conceded goal in the second half.

Exeter deserved the 4-0 win and set a good example to Tavistock.
