THREE Tavistock Swimming Club swimmers successfully qualified to compete at the South West Regional Winter Championships recently in Millfield, Somerset.
Thirteen year-old Amy Roberts was up first competing for the first time at this level of competition. She took on the 800m freestyle and knocked a massive 20 seconds off her personal best time to finish 25th junior girl in the region.
Sarah Teague competed in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events finishing in 50th and 45th place, respectively in the women’s open age group.
Competing for Tavistock Swimming Club for the last time, Nathaniel Rookes swam in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100IM and his favoured event the 50m breaststroke where he qualified through to the final and finished in seventh place.
