Cullompton started off the brightest side camping deep in North Tawton's 22; however a turnover resulted in full back Hayley taking the outside, to run in the first try duly converted by Clara Nielson. Cullompton came back again camping in North Tawton's 22, some strong rucking by the North Tawton ladies turned over the ball again with a similar result to the first.
North Tawton started to play the style of rugby they are renowned for strong scrums, strong rucking, good hands and slick passing. Tasha Currie got the backs moving for Hayley to run in her third try; again Neilson converted to make it 21-0 to Tawton at half-time.
The second half saw North Tawton take control; a great break by Lynsey Prout and a trundle by Dawn Avery kept the team moving forward, giving Neilson the opportunity to score her own try — which she also converted.
Coach Dave Crawford brought in changes but the Tawton ladies stayed strong, tackling their hearts out, making sure Cullompton did not cross their line.
