TAVISTOCK Swimming Club used the opportunity of a large gathering of the membership at their recent Club Championship Gala at Meadowlands, to celebrate outgoing chair, Neil Marks’ six and a half years hard work at the helm on behalf of their members.
Neil joined the club with his daughter Chloe, a successful swimmer, nine years ago. He served on the committee throughout, with his widespread experience of swimming organisations and business procedures helping to keep them on an even keel during his tenure.
Club vice president Chris Anderson thanked Neil for his years of service, presiding over the club’s growth and supporting head coach James Lake’s increasing successes with the swimmers.
He said: ‘Neil worked hard to alleviate tension in the county during the Arena League crisis, as well as leading TSC sub committees working on their charity status preparation, Swim Mark qualification and contract arrangements.’
Committee members, coaches, volunteer gala officials, swimmers taking part in the gala and parents watching on poolside showed their appreciation for Neil’s years of friendship, expertise and commitment to the club with a round of applause, offering a huge thank you from them all. Neil continues to show an interest in all club activities and successes.
