IN the annual match for the Tamar Cup between Devon girls U15s and Cornwall girls U15s, two Tavistock RFC girls played, with one other sidelined with injury.

Chloe Dawe, in her second year at this level had a barnstorming game for Cornwall carrying the ball time and time again, falling just short of the line. Devon were wise to the threat and begun to tackle her in twos and threes. One of the regular tacklers was Alice Mills-Hicks who worked tirelessly in the loose and made a lot of tackles.

Slowly Devon took the upper hand, and stretched a 21-5 half time lead to a final score of 37-5.  Their secret was spreading the ball wide and stretching the defense through accurate passing.

The third Tavistock player, who did not play due to a knee injury, but has played all previous matches, was Lily Mills,  who hopes to return for the next matches on November 24.

The girls from the U18s county teams played with Lizzie Crocker, Bronwyn Rundle and Kim Upcott from Tavistock being chosen to play for Devon.
