TAVISTOCK Athletic Club members competed in two Plymouth races .
At the penultimate round of the Armada Athletics Winter 3k series which is run in Central Park, five junior members and one senior were among the 54 finishers.
U15B William Dax was the first to finish, in 14th place overall in a fast 11minutes 31seconds with U15G Emily Attfield just two positions and seven seconds behind. Star of the race was U13B Harry Herdman, who achieved a personal best time of 11mins 41secs.
Josh Blake came home in 20th in 12.01 followed by MV60 Allan and daughter Francesca in 12.17 and 14.28 respectively.
The following weekend, 14 TACs took part in the Plymouth Hoe 10-miler, the second race of the club's Grand Prix series.
Jim Cole finished second overall, knocking 16 minutes off his 2012 time for the race, and achieving a fast diamond award for his age/time. Allan Herdman, in his first Grand Prix race, was second in his age category also gaining diamond, as did Christine Le Flem, third in her FV60 category.
David Twine was third TAC to finish and his time gained him a ruby award, while platinum times were run by Peter Bazley, Wally Lake, Andy Houghton, who was third in his MV65 category, and by Trevor Williams.
Paul Marshall and Tony Shearer both recorded gold times, while TAC 2012 Grand Prix male champion Graham De Val and John Windemer both achieved silver. Caron De Val and Sarah Dorrell brought this large TAC contingent home.
