After a two-year break due to the Covid pandemic, Tavistock Swimming Club and Okehampton Otters were delighted to welcome swimmers to Parklands Leisure Centre for the annual sprint meet.  This is a small, friendly gala aimed at swimmers new to competing and those youngsters who hadn’t raced for a couple of years.

Tavistock SC had a fantastic team of 36 swimmers sign up for the day. For many this was their first time racing and there were some amazing swims which showed their coaches and supporters spectating just what they can do.  So many surprised themselves on the day and wished they had entered more races. Lots of smiles, personal best times, medals won and a ‘super proud’ head coach James Lake.

The Tavistock Swimming Club members who competed on the day were: Esme, Arabella, Mary, Mia (1 gold, 2 silver), Emma, Holly, Olivia, Lamorna (1 gold, 3 bronze), Rory (4 gold, 1 silver, Top 13 year old boy), Miri, Callum (1 silver), Jamie (4 gold, 1 bronze, Top 8/9 year old boy), Iris, Amelia (2 gold, 2 bronze), Ellie, Isla, Morgan, Tanisha, Euan (1 bronze), Luka (1 bronze), Tamzin, Lincoln, Miley (3 gold), Mabel, Esme, Ewan, Eloise, Henry (3 bronze), Tilly, Kaiden, Josie, Rose and Daniel (1 bronze).  Congratulations to them all.
