MOUNT Kelly sent two competitors to take part in the Cotswold Super Sprint Triathlon on Sunday.

The event consisted of a lake swim followed by a fairly flat ride on quiet country roads before departing for a run on paths around the lake. There were 485 competitors who took part in the event.

Phoebe Lloyd Evans, who is in the lower sixth at Mount Kelly, won the 17-19 years category of the super sprint consisting of a 400m swim/20km bike/5km run.

Thomas Brew, aged 14, took part in the 14-16 years category, completing a 200m swim/20km bike/2.5km run and came in seventh.

This was a good result from both competitors being their first triathlon of the season.
