COTEHELE Quay Gig Club travelled en masse across the border to Paignton on Saturday to attend the first CPGA tribute event of the season.

As the first two tributes had been cancelled due to the atrocious weather club members were all hoping for good conditions and, thankfully, the sun came out at last.

The event was well-attended by approximately 50 gig clubs. Cotehele Quay entered teams in all but one category and had three men's teams, 3 ladies' teams, one under 16 team, one veteran's team and a mixed team.

There were mixed results from the best result coming from the Men's A team who finished in 12th place overall, to the Ladies C bringing up the rear. A special mention should go to the U16 team who finished fourth despite being well behind the line at the start. Full results can be seen on the website.

The club is now looking forward to the second tribute at Rame next Saturday and the U16s Championships at Newquay on Sunday.
