MOUNT Kelly pupils Phoebe Lloyd-Evans (17) and Victoria Moore (15), took part in the Roadford Sprint Triathlon held on Sunday, May 24 at Roadford Lake.
Both girls were in the 16-20 years age group and completed a 750 metre open water swim, followed by a 20 kilometre bike ride and finishing with a 5.5k run.
Phoebe completed the event in 1 hour 25 minutes and 02 seconds to claim top spot in her age group with Victoria posting a 1hr 26mins and 26 secs to claim runner-up to Phoebe.
The girls times are as follows — Phoebe Lloyd-Evans: 750m swim, 11mins 58secs; transition one, 1min 2secs; 20k cycle, 42mins 12secs; transition two, 37secs; 5.5k run, 29mins 11secs; overall time and position, first in 1hour 25mins 2secs.
Victoria Moore: 750m swim, 11mins 41secs; transition one, 1min 14secs; 20k cycle, 45mins 32secs; transition two, 1min 5secs; 5.5k run, 26mins 52secs; overall time and position, second in 1hour 26mins 26secs.
This was the second year running that Victoria had taken part in the Roadford Sprint Triathlon and this year's second place saw Victoria improve her time from last year by nearly 10 minutes.
