THE Braunton 10 race hosted by North Devon Road Runners took place in wet and blustery weather.
The route takes the athletes along ten miles of country roads with some testing hills which provide stunning views over the Taw estuary before a welcome descent down to the athletics track and the finish.
There was a great result for Steve Gentle of Okehampton Running Club who finished in a superb fifth overall place and first senior male in a time of 1 hour 02 minutes 05 seconds. Club mate Detlef Schoenfeld completed in 1.25.41.
ORC Mags Jarvis enjoyed a new running experience when she took part in the Whinlatter Forest 5 mile head torch race in the Lake District with her daughter, Sarah. They had to follow forest tracks and paths guided by glow sticks and arrows, up and down hill on a chilly but dry evening. They ran together to finish in 56 mins 20 secs — Mags being the first FV55 over the line.
