IN mid-September, Tavistock resident Graham Coiley is taking part in a 500km sponsored cycle ride from London to Paris aiming to raise £1,500 for charity.

The four day event is raising important money for Bloodwise‚ a national charity that funds research and offers expert information and support to anyone affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood cancer related disorders.

Graham said: ‘It’s quite possible that one of your friends or family has been affected by one of these blood disorders.’

The cycle ride promises to be a great challenge for all those taking part, but Graham hopes that his six months of training around the Tavistock and Dartmoor area will have prepared him well.

The final spectacular part of the ride is cycling around the Arc de Triomphe and then on to the finish at the Eiffel Tower.

Graham is well on the way to reaching his target of £1,500 sponsorship and said that he would be delighted with any donations.
