THIS year’s Bere Ferrers Watersports is back for more muddy fun! On Saturday from 2pm, Bere Ferrers will hold it’s annual Watersports event, which has taken place over the last 40 years.

Every year the village opens its doors and invites everyone to enjoy an afternoon of good wholesome fun and to watch, and cheer on teams from the village and surrounding areas as they take on the challenges set upon the muddy banks, just out from the quay.

Robin Musgrave, Watersports chair, said, “We are so very proud to hold this event in our gorgeous village of Bere Ferrers. It attracts people from all over, and with our train station it makes it a very accessible event. The visitors on the day experience a taster of village life by the water along with lots of good fun.

Last year’s Watersports event raised more than a £1,000, half of which was donated to the Bere Ferrers recreation ground for some much needed maintenance.
